Lost and found

A year ago today, I returned to Maryland to root through my deceased father’s house, looking for a plethora of items I left behind after we had a violent disagreement that resulted in my departure. I took my camera and documented the search so my family could see what became of the old home. In the end, I made a film out of it. It was my first effort. Looking at it now, I can see where it could be shorter. That said, when I shot all that footage, it was never my endgame to make a film, and why the majority of this footage is lacking. It was always about the now/then intercuts.

And now the shameless self-promotion.

In the film, I didn’t go deep into the reasons I left in 1992 and what really happened that day. However, I did write about it. It’s part of the first Displaced novel, which is still free: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/960718
